Richardson (2006) stated, “So conceivably, you could wake up every morning, disconnect your player from your computerand go out for that early morning run or drive with a whole list of of new content to listen to” (p. 113). I don’t run or drive so is their a way that my morining alarm could include newly downloaded podcasts?
Maybe something that wirelessly graps podcasts from a computer and then plays the podcast as I am waking up.
This device, Retro Alarm, is a usb alarm clock that plays iTunes content but I suppose that the computer needs to be on your night stand too.
I know that there are docking stations for mobile media devices that use the built in alarm functionality that many of these devices have. But what options are there for waking up to the most recent podcasts without dragging my computer into the bedroom?

You bring up an interesting and innovative ida that I am sure people are already working on. Radio does give that sense of new and up to the minute info that many of us crave to have and listen to everyday. I find I like a balance between the new and favorite chatter. Some days as I am driving to work, I will plop in my favorite download podcast that I have subscribed to on Itunes or if I feel like some up to date and last minute headlines I will just listen to my favorite station for a while. It depends on my mood and what I feel the need for. There should be a balance. I started listening to podcasts about 4-5 years ago when I found some really great ones that chatted about certain fandoms that I was into. Then I even met some friends after listening for a while and even was asked to guest star on some of theirs though I have to say I am a better writer. It is fun and with the right people, podcasts can be the wave of the future.
